Adopt a Family Foundation Annual Gala 2019

Adopt a Family Foundation held its annual Gala at Building 177, in Liberty Station, on March 31, 2019, with dinner, program and musical entertainment by Shanee. The evening was well attended with more than 200 guests, who came together in an effort to celebrate Bravery and Honoring Resilience. The event was co-chaired by Orly Perez and Shira Schaffer. Adopt a Family Foundation was honored to have Almog Boker, Israeli national television news reporter, as its guest speaker. Almog's speech described the daily life in the South of Israel, sharing its daily challenges. It was also an honor to welcome Yaniv Perez and 5 players from the Sderot soccer team. The participants had a chance to better understand the situation that the Adopt a Family Foundation's adopted families live. The guests had also the opportunity to bid on beautiful art pieces generously donated by artists from our community, as well as bid on a Live Auction, with Stephen Kramer Glickman, actor, music producer and stand-up comedian. Holiday Boutique 2019 at Morgan Run Club & Resort

Adopt a Family Foundation held its Holiday Boutique on December 3 at Morgan Run Club & Resort. The Boutique was well attended and offered a fun day of shopping from a wide selection of vendors selling fashion, jewelry, homeware, and delicious homemade pastries. In addition, the RSF Chabad Bat Mitzvah Club made amazing challahs as their Bat Mitzvah project and donated them to be sold at the Boutique’s Bake Sale. Live music was provided by musicians Yael & Vlady. The event was a success! A big thank you goes out to all our wonderful guests, donors and vendors who supported the Foundation’s cause.

4th Annual Soccer Tournament in Memory of Alon Bakal (z")

Again this year, Adopt a Family Foundation was able to invite 5 players and their coach, Yaniv Peretz, from the Sderot soccer team for a 10 day trip long to San Diego. The goal of this trip is not only to provide them with a restful and exciting time, but also to give them a chance to get to know our community, feel cared for, and participate in a soccer tournament with teens from San Diego. This year's tournament took place at the San Diego Jewish Academy on April 7, 2019. The tournament was dedicated to the memory of Alon Bakal, celebrating his love of life, of sport, and of people. It was an honor to have Dudu and Nitza Bakal amongst us to celebrate this special day. Am Echad, Lev Echad

Adopt a Family Foundation Annual Gala 2018

Adopt a Family Foundation held its annual Gala at the Don Room of El Cortez, Downtown San Diego, on March 18, with dinner, program and musical entertainment by Shanee. The evening was well attended with more than 200 guests, who came together in an effort to celebrate Israel and its 70 years of Courage. The event was co-chaired by Jenny Michan and Julie Rosoff, and emceed by Dan Cohen Adopt a Family Foundation was honored to have one of its adopted families, as its guest speaker. The participants had a chance to better understand the life of victims of terror. Thank you to Adopt a Family Foundation Board and Committee Members, and all the wonderful supporters who made this evening possible and allow Adopt a Family Foundation pursue its essential mission and work.
